They’ll have people there to direct participants out at 5:30 AM when the gate opens. Also featured is the Riccardi’s Mopar Corral next to Riccardi’s Red Hots off State Street. 1. Turning Back Time Car Show

This is a beautiful function for people and its town. Very, very nice cars! But, I think it is no different than any other show when it comes to awarding. Horrible. Why, you say! The voting is ignorant and not fare. Its setup from the beginning for individuals that have participants for previous years. Its a bad set up for new comers to the show, resulting in a why want to come back to show feeling for them. Its a vote for me and I will vote for you show(BOGUST). This great for the ones that come very year or the ones that knows each other. This shows has alot of volunteer’s to help run the show and is very organized which is awsome in many ways. So, why doesnt the show create Judges and let them be honest judge’s. This would be fair to all vehicle owner’s. It’s Just not a fair show and we first didnt understand why some participant’s rejected wanting to vote because of this problem and stated it before 2013 voting. Bless all that attended and all were achievers..

If I have sent this to the wrong person, please suggest me the proper person or pass it on please. This is a attempt to be fair to all and make life a little better.

    Thank you

  2. Since first recieving this very message via email after this year’s show, my explanation for what we do what we do was summarily dismissed by Mr. Johnson. In fact, he referred to me as a “Car Salesman” for whatever reason.

We have indeed explored options including judging but have not come up with anything viable due to the sheer numbers of additional volunteers needed for the show. In 2012 we added a spectator vote to the mix and found the results very similar to the participant voting in the past. Yes, there is a fair amount of mutual back scratching involved, but in investigating other show, yes we attend several, we have witnessed pros and cons in each method. Mr. Johnsom seems to agree with our findings as he comments that we’re “…no different than any other show when it comes to awarding. Horrible.”

Our philosophy is to make our show a fun event for participants and spectators and send a few home with recognition for what they bring to help us with that. It you’re only out for the trophy then perpaps another venue would be better suited to your effort. We appreciate that.

Again, Mr. Johnson, thank you for your compliments to the orgaization. We appreciate that very much as we work dilligently to improve the event every year.
    With Best Regards,
    Mike Tritle
